Volunteering
Since June 2022, Rhea has volunteered at Grace House Assisted Living in Austin, where she leads weekly music-therapy sessions through piano and violin performances that uplift residents’ spirits and ease loneliness. She curates personalized playlists aligned with residents’ generational favorites, helping evoke meaningful memories and provide gentle cognitive stimulation. With compassion and attentiveness, Rhea observes and documents residents’ responses—particularly among those facing dementia or depression—so that staff can adapt care with greater sensitivity. By working closely with nurses and activity coordinators, she integrates music into holistic wellness programs, fostering moments of comfort, connection, and joy for the elder community.

Classical Dance | Piano | Violin
Rhea is a dedicated performing artist and community volunteer: a pianist with eight years of training and a violinist with five, she performs regularly at senior assisted living facilities and multicultural events, including large-scale audiences of 500+; she also designs therapeutic music sets that foster emotional wellness and intergenerational connection.
Her musicianship is recognized with consecutive years of national guild audition merit in piano. In classical dance, Rhea trains in Kathak within the North Indian tradition, guided by a disciple of the legendary Pandit Birju Maharaj, and she has performed at regional cultural festivals, public showcases, and charity fundraisers.
