There has been a growing need for advanced healthcare solutions for seniors in assisted living. As the senior population continues to expand, so does the importance of providing effective and efficient healthcare monitoring and intervention. Traditional healthcare systems are unable to meet these demands due to limitations in automation, availability of caregivers and access to real-time data.
NisurgCare continuously computes a personalized Health-Score for every senior, which serves as a real-time indicator of the state of holistic well being. Health-Score of a senior is synthesized via aggregating health metrics from a wearable device and gesture metrics from smart cameras. When the Health-Score of a senior deteriorates, an AI based threshold system generates alerts to caregivers for proactive intervention. The preventative alerts are generated before a critical situation arises.
By reducing accidents and hospitalizations, NisurgCare promises to address the pressing challenges of an aging population, ensuring that seniors receive the care and attention they deserve in their golden years. NisurgCare is delivered as a digital platform, which also reduces the burden on caregivers and allows family members to access real time health status of their loved ones.
AI & CV based drowning-safe Spa
On average, 389 pool or hot tub-related drowning deaths involving kids under 15 were reported each year from 2017 to 2019 and this number is still significantly above 300 in 2022 and 2023. According to the CPSC, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death among 1- to 4-year-olds.
We have not found any products in the market to prevent these fatal accidents for our vulnerable population. A smart spa that can alert and take action during critical situations can save lives. It will also bolster the confidence of a large retail consumer base. Our solution, NisurgSPA, embeds a privacy-enabled camera in the tub to capture and track only the outline of the nostrils. A ComputerVision-based AI model tracks the time duration that a nostril is underwater. If the nostril is detected to be underwater above a time threshold, it sends an SMS to a caregiver and starts draining the tub. There is a privacy-enabled microphone to capture sounds. The AI model filters out the potential drowning sound and correlates with the nostril position for accurate drowning detection. The captured sound and nostril locations are never stored or transmitted and are deleted immediately after processing locally at the tub location.

AI and CV based community protection
We have observed rapid use of location tags to track possessions. Tags are owned and tracked by an owner of a material object. There are occasions when a facilities’ management team would like to ensure that individuals do not lose their possessions. Also in some situations an unattended object could trigger a safety alarm. For instance, if an unclaimed object was found in a crowded location, like an Airport, Movie Theater, Bar then it raises a suspicion. During events, like worldwide conferences and events people lose a lot of their possessions and the “Lost and Found” department needs to go on overdrive.
We propose a solution that tracks the possessions of individuals and triggers an alert when the owner leaves the possession behind. The tracking can be implemented by applying Computer Vision based AI models to identify possessions (like a backpack) in real time, calculating the time period of separation and detecting that an individual left the facilities without the possession. All the individuals within the reach of a camera can be processed simultaneously and continuously. There are no requirements of a physical device (like a tag) to be managed separately for tracking.
